DuPage County Moves into Tier 2; Some Athletics Allowed

BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Department of Public Health upgraded several regions on Friday, allowing for loosened COVID mitigations. With that announcement, the Illinois High School Association updated its guidance for high school athletics.

DuPage County is at a Tier 2 level.

Contests are allowed within conferences and regions for low-risk winter sports, including badminton, boys swimming and diving, cheer, dance, girls bowling and girls gymnastics.

Contact practices and training are not allowed for high-risk sports at this time. These winter sports include boys and girls basketball.

Kane County is also in Tier 2. Will County remains in Tier 3, while DeKalb County and Kendall County have improved to Tier 1.
